Circuit Monitoring
Your network's weak link could very well be the circuits that the data rides on. But how would you know? Effective management of the data circuits is a critical component that every solution must have to be complete. But what do you use? And who do you trust to provide this information?
Circuit monitoring should be able to quickly answer the questions most commonly asked during an outage: is the issue caused by the CPE devices or is it originating from the network (carrier, LEC, or ISP)? In addition, it should provide other necessary functions as well: functions that help evaluate the performance, establish a baseline, and plan for future growth.
It is precisely these functions that help determine whether the service is meeting the requirements, ensuring that the state is getting the proper return on investment. This "bang for the buck" measurement can only be determined when the circuit is measured by quantifiable means.
MAI's solutions for circuit monitoring combines high-powered hardware and software to provide a network-wide, end-to-end system. The system is securely available to multiple personnel in multiple locations (this means YOU can see how your circuits are performing.) Expert monitoring agents in the form of passive hardware probes perform the local data collection. Centralized system software performs the archiving and analysis of network performance information and then presents it to the user via an intuitive, easy-to-use GUI (Graphical User Interface). This centralized system software is available as a client/server system, with distributed availability of information to anyone who needs it.
Acclaimed by users and providers alike for its power and ease of use, the solution is the most comprehensive WAN performance and troubleshooting toolset in the industry. It provides:
·Full time and Network-wide monitoring of a Customer’s Wide Area Network
·Complete Protocol Analysis from both a Real-Time and Historical Perspective
·Proactive Monitoring
·Detailed Troubleshooting
·Performance Reporting
·Ongoing Planning
·Packet Capture and Filtering
·Full SLA monitoring: Availability, Frame Delivery Ratio, and Round Trip Delay
The system collects data across the customer’s entire wide area network at each access point or probe, enabling true end-to-end network planning, monitoring, and troubleshooting. MAI's circuit management solution integrates expert monitoring capabilities with access equipment to automate the collection, interpretation, and presentation of service level data. This unique system provides all the tools necessary to deal with the challenges of fast packet and legacy services such as Frame Relay, ATM, IP/Internet, and leased lines, while being completely transparent and non-obtrusive. After all, what good is effective circuit management if it gets in the way?
