Position: Network Engineer   POSITION FILLED

Location: Northern Virginia
Posting Date: 11/29/2004

MAI is seeking candidates who will work in the Network Operations Center to support the monitoring of Wide Area Networks (WAN) and Local Area Networks (LAN) in a multiple customer environment. The NOC is staffed 24x7. Although the majority of work days will be performed during work hours, Candidate must be willing to be on call, work irregular shift schedules (possibly nights, weekends, and holidays) as well as perform NOC tasks either independently or under supervision. The candidate will be required to work with WAN vendors in troubleshooting large data networks. Duties also include working very closely with more senior NOC and Network Engineering personnel in a team environment. Responsibilities include monitoring/managing network problems and updating detailed trouble tickets. This individual will also be responsible for site monitoring, error detection/troubleshooting, configuration, implementation, and ongoing maintenance.

Qualifications Required:

* 2 or 4 year Information Technology related degree or related IT work experience
* Strong Cisco and Windows skills are a must.
* Working knowledge of Windows 2000 or 2003 server platforms including a basic understanding of Active Directory, DNS, etc.
* Understanding of networking principles (routing, switching, cabling) and the ability to troubleshoot network issues.
* Knowledge of Frame Relay, T1, ISDN, DS3 circuits.
* Strong customer service skills.
* Ability to quickly learn new software applications as needed.
* Ability to work in a 24/7 work environment.
* Ability to work flexible schedule including weeknights and/or weekends.
* Current IT-related certifications - A+, MCP, MCSA, CCNA, etc.
* Knowledge of network management tools - What's Up Gold, Spectrum, HP Openview, etc.

Qualifications Desired:

* Previous experience in a NOC environment
* Experience with Visual UpTime
* Experience with Firewall products - Cisco PIX
* Experience with videoconferencing products desired - Tandberg, Polycom
* Understanding of network security and VPN technology



Position: Multimedia Developers   POSITION FILLED

Location: Northern Virginia

MAI has opportunities available for Multimedia Developers. Ideal Candidates will possess a Bachelors degree in Graphic Design or related discipline or 1-4 years experience developing multimedia software, courseware, and web client-server applications using current development production software, methods and tools. Must have experience in creating innovative content and building applications from scratch. Experience and knowledge of state of the art multimedia software to include graphics, illustration, imaging, photo editing, and web development software is a must. Candidate must be proficient in HTML, Javascript, XML, and Adobe Photoshop.


Position: Network Engineer   POSITION FILLED

Location: Austin, TX

Seeking an experienced Cisco professional with a minimum 2 years of hands- on experience. Duties include support of T1 Frame Relay WAN links/Ethernet LAN. Must have experience with EIGRP, IGRP, RIP and VLSM. CCNA required, CCNP a big plus.
